‘Each One…Reach One’

Male Mentoring Program

Mission statement: The ‘Each One…Reach One’ mentoring program is designed to help develop young African American males to become successful in life through the instruction of other powerful influential men of color within the surrounding areas. As a result of this relationship, a trusting bond between both the mentor and mentee will make a positive life long impact on their society and young men at large.

The Fight against Teen Suicide:  We can make a difference!

Why is teen suicide so affective?  How can teen suicide be prevented?  Many people ask themselves these questions.  It is crucial that "we" as a community should be determined to raise a generation that seeks to live and not die regardless of the circumstances they endure.  Although suicide is relatively rare among children, the rate of suicides and suicide attempts increases tremendously during adolescence.  Suicide is the third-leading cause of death for 15 to 24 year olds, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), surpassed only by accidents and homicide.  As a result, teen suicide can be prevented by seeking professional help, asking your teenager what they are feeling, and removing all lethal weapons from your home-- including guns, pills, kitchen utensils and ropes.
